About King Lear

Kenneth Branagh will direct and play the title role for 50 performances only at Wyndham’s Theatre from 21 October.

Joining Kenneth Branagh as director, the creative team is made up of Jon Bausor (Set and Costume Designer), Lucy Skilbeck (Associate Director), Nina Dunn (Projection Designer), Paul Keogan (Lighting Designer), Ben and Max Ringham (Sound Designer and Composer), Aletta Collins (Choreographer), Lucy Bevan CDG and Emily Brockmann (Casting Directors), Bret Yount (Fight Director), Wakana Yoshihara (Hair and Make-up), Issy Snape and Michael Rouse (Assistant Directors) and Jim Leaver (Production Manager).

Day Tickets

Additional seats in the front row of the Stalls, plus a number of standing tickets located at the back of the Stalls will be released online at 10:30am on the morning of each performance day for any performances taking place that day.

Advance Standing Tickets

Standing tickets in the Grand Circle will be released online each Wednesday at 5:30pm, following the weekly lottery draw, for the following week's performances. This scheme will provide an opportunity for anyone who does not wish to participate in the lottery, or whose lottery application has been unsuccessful, to purchase £20 tickets in advance.

Some Things You Need to Know

Age recommendation: 13+

Please note: William Shakespeare’s King Lear contains sensitive scenes that include violence and torture. This production contains two blackouts.

The performance will run for approximately 2 hours with no interval. Please note, latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. There will be one admittance just after curtain up and the second at approximately 45 minutes into the performance.

Everyone, regardless of age, must have their own ticket to enter the theatre. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by and sat next to a ticketholder who is at least 18 years old. Children under the age of 3 will not be admitted. Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break but we cannot guarantee admittance into the performance.
