About The Show

Please note: Since HAMILTON contains some strong language, the show is appropriate for ages 10+. Children under 4 are not permitted into the theatre. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

HAMILTON is the story of America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the very foundations of the America we know today. The score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway - the story of America then, as told by America now.

HAMILTON has book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and is based on Ron Chernow's biography of Alexander Hamilton.

Winner of 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, HAMILTON continues its run at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway. A second US production is also playing at the PrivateBank Theatre in Chicago and a third US production opened in March at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco before transferring to Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.

Hamilton Frequently Asked Questions

Important information about HAMILTON Paperless Ticketing.

Demand for HAMILTON tickets is exceptionally high.

Ticket touts and unauthorised resellers use multiple payment cards, false identities and sophisticated computer programmes (‘bots’) to harvest vast amounts of tickets which they then offer for resale at highly-inflated prices.

The producers of HAMILTON are determined to combat this unauthorised profiteering by third party resellers and ticket touts and to protect patrons from having to pay highly-inflated prices. Therefore, Delfont Mackintosh Theatres are operating a new paperless ticketing system, HAMILTON Paperless Ticketing, powered by Ticketmaster.

Tickets can only be purchased using credit or debit card online or in person at the box office.

No traditional tickets will be issued in advance. The payment card you use to originally purchase your tickets will gain you admission to the theatre on the night.

When patrons book, they will receive a simple email confirmation as proof of purchase. This is not a ticket. Upon arrival at the theatre, patrons will be required to present their original email confirmation, their original payment card and a Government-issued photo ID such as a driving license or passport as proof of ID. The cardholder must be present and attend the performance.

The theatre will then swipe the patron’s card to produce seat location slips which gain them and their party admittance into the auditorium. All members of the party should enter the theatre at the same time.

Can I cancel or resell tickets I can no longer use?

The reselling of any HAMILTON ticket is strictly forbidden. Any HAMILTON ticket offered for resale either on or offline (including Viagogo and all secondary ticket retail websites) will result in the entire original booking being cancelled. The original purchaser and their party will be refused admission.

However, if you have tickets which, for a legitimate reason, you can no longer use, please contact Ticketmaster Customer Services up to 48hrs before a performance who will cancel and refund part or all of your booking, subject to a cancellation fee of £3.00 per ticket.

Less than 48hrs before a performance, Ticketmaster will only refund tickets at the producers’ discretion.

THE HAMILTON £10 TICKET LOTTERY

WIN THE CHANCE TO PURCHASE £10 LOTTERY TICKETS AT EVERY PERFORMANCE OF HAMILTON

Entry for the HAMILTON £10 LOTTERY is via the official HAMILTON app which can be downloaded from www.hamiltonthemusical.co.uk.

You can also enter online here.

Lotteries open at 4pm and close 2pm the following day.

Within an hour of each lottery closing and the random selection of winners being made, all entrants will be notified either through the app or by email with successful entrants receiving details of how to claim and pay for their lottery tickets within that communication.

Patrons can apply for a maximum of two £10 Lottery tickets at each lottery. There is no limit to the number of individual lotteries you can enter. Further detail can be found here.

All Lottery tickets will be paperless and collectable from the theatre on the day of the performance only, on the way into the performance.

Can I give tickets as a gift or give a letter of authorisation for someone else to attend?

Not directly. HAMILTON Paperless Ticketing, powered by Ticketmaster is an admission system specifically designed to limit the transferability of tickets to prevent both touting and unauthorised reselling at inflated prices. It does so by ensuring that the link between the ID of the original cardholder and that of the person attending on the night is maintained.

To gift tickets, we suggest you ask the intended recipient of the gift (or a member of the party due to attend with them) to purchase tickets on their own card and that you then gift them the money.

If you have tickets but your circumstances change and you can no longer use some or all of them, contact Ticketmaster Customer Services up to 48hrs before a performance and they will cancel and refund part or all of your booking, subject to a cancellation fee of £3.00 per ticket.

Tickets can only be purchased using credit or debit card online or in person at the box office.

Can I exchange my tickets for a different performance?

If you can no longer attend a performance for a legitimate reason, contact Ticketmaster Customer Services who will, up to 48hrs before a performance, cancel and refund your original booking subject to a cancellation fee of £3.00 per ticket. They will then book you into an alternative performance, if seats are available.

Less than 48hrs before a performance, Ticketmaster can only refund tickets at the producers’ discretion.

What if my credit card expires before the performance?

We recommend you check the expiry date of your credit card prior to purchase and to use where possible a card which will be valid on the date you attend the performance.

If that is not possible, Ticketmaster will always try and contact patrons whose payment card expires between the time of the booking and the day of the performance so that a new card number can be applied to the booking. This new card number will then become the valid card associated with that booking and the new card is the one which needs to be presented at the theatre on the night of the performance. The payment will remain on the original card. No debits or charges will be made on the new card.

Although Ticketmaster will make best endeavours to contact you, they may not have your most up-to-date contact details. Therefore, you will also need to be aware of changes to your own card details. If you have not heard from us, please contact Ticketmaster Customer Services in order for your card details to be updated.

What if my card is lost or stolen before the performance?

If the account number on your reissued card differs from the one you originally used to purchase your tickets, you will need to contact Ticketmaster Customer Services in advance of the performance in order that they can add your new card number to your booking. This new card number will then become the valid card associated with that booking and the new card is the one which needs to be presented at the theatre on the night of the performance along with your original purchase confirmation email and Government issued photo ID.

Is there a lower age limit?

Since HAMILTON contains some strong language, the show is appropriate for ages 10+. Children under 4 are not permitted into the theatre. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

How long is the show?

HAMILTON runs 2 hours 45 minutes including one 15 minute interval.

Which cast members perform at which performances?

Like most West End musicals, the cast of HAMILTON is an ensemble company. The producers cannot guarantee the appearance of a particular artist at any performance. Appearance could be subject to many factors including illness and holidays.

No refunds or exchanges will be offered as a result of a cast member’s unavailability to perform at any performance.
