The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time – In Conversation with Mark Haddon and Simon Stephens

Christopher, fifteen years old, stands beside Mrs Shears' dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at maths while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world.

Author, Mark Haddon, and script adaptor, Simon Stephens, talk about the production's extraordinary journey; from early National Theatre workshops through to its first onstage performances in the Cottesloe and the award-winning transfer to the West End. Find out the inside story and have the opportunity to ask them your questions about this acclaimed production. Join us at the Gielgud Theatre from 5pm on Tuesday 9 September 2014. Tickets for this event are £4 (£3 with concession).

There is also a post-show Q and A with the cast every first Tuesday of the month, from 5 August 2014.
