Enjoy is a rarely performed gem by  Alan Bennett, one of the greatest observers of the English way of life.

Alan Bennett set this dark comedy, written in 1980,  in his home town of Leeds, where an ageing couple are living in the city’s last back-to-back. With the demolition of the area in progress, Wilf and Connie are soon to be re-housed in a brand new maisonette with a waste disposal unit and non-slip flooring! When a sociologist comes to observe them in their daily life, normality takes a decidedly surreal turn…

With its gallery of  extraordinary characters and stunning visual denouement, Enjoy is an absolute theatrical treat.

A dream cast includes Alison Steadman, star of BBC TV's Gavin and Stacey, Pride and Prejudice and Mike Leigh's immortal Abigail's Party and Royal Shakespeare Company veteran David Troughton. A transfer from the Theatre Royal, Bath where it was wildly acclaimed by press and public alike, Enjoy promises to be the West End hit of 2009.
